I agree this has an impressionistic look. Much like Mary Cassatte, although you have a better "feel" for the human figure. What brought you to Taos? This painting caught my eye first. Not sure if it was the innocence and beauty of the sleeping child or the color usage. How do you like the winters in Taos?

Thank you for your comments, Jimmie. Folks seem to forget that Colorado is not ALL mountains, 14,000 foot peaks, and snow covered slopes. I think the Colorado eastern plains have a great deal of beauty and plan to paint more of it. And the colors change so much throughout the seasons it's worthy of documenting on an on-going basis.

Excellent use of color. Very calming. (Are you sure you've never painted before? Ha Ha) Also thanx for the kind words. Yes the piece you commented on was a sort of homage to Picasso.

Christopher enjoy the painting. I read your bio and you hit it on the head to me its about telling a story. Like you my roots run towards the old school. I'm trying to get to the point where i do portraits and full figure but first a few more still lifes before I make the jump. Where do you see yourself going from here?

Thanks Yahya glad you like the piece. I agree it is complicated, but I can only paint from the inside out. I think it's fair to say that our thoughts and behaviors are shaped by an ever changing and complex mix of love, hate, shame, humor, fear, bigotry, conflict, confusion, depression, ignorance, elation, conceit and wonder.... .Cheers.
